Materials:
•   Vinegar or lemon juice
•   Water
•   One paper cup
•   Paper
•   Heat source (We recommend an electric iron)

Directions:
1.   Add some vinegar or lemon juice into a small paper cup.
2.   Add one small drop of water to the vinegar or lemon juice.
3.   Write a short message or draw a small picture by using a cotton swab as a writing utensil.
4.   Let the message dry for approximately 10 minutes.
5.   Have an adult place an electric iron over the paper and gently slide the iron back and forth until the message appears.

Why does the message turn a brownish color?
Carbon turns a brownish color when heated. Adding a small drop of water to the lemon juice breaks up carbon molecules and this appears to be invisible when you write a message on the paper. However, the message turns brown when the iron is placed over the writing.
